Romance in the air for Payal Rohatgi and Herschelle Gibbs

Share

Remember Payal Rohatgi? Got it right…. It is the same girl known more for her nasty fights with Sambhavna Seth in ‘Big Boss 2’ and less for her forgettable role in ‘Dil Kabbadi’. Since the lass does not have much to do these days, she doesn’t mind flirting a bit with South African batsman Herschelle Gibbs.
It all started at the IPL Awards after-party some days ago and there has been no stopping since. Gibbs was with colleague Andrew Symonds at the party where Payal was seen throwing peanuts playfully at Gibbs, who enjoyed all the attention being showered on him. didn’t seem to mind the attention at all. Payal was heard calling Gibbs ‘cute’ and they seemed to instantly click. They exchanged numbers and the next day they met for a quiet dinner. Now, Gibbs and Payal have been in touch on the phone and through SMS.
Insiders say that Payal has plans to fly off to the West Indies, where the T-20 World Cup has just kicked off, to cheer for Gibbs. Payal confirms this saying, “Yes, we had dinner together. Herschelle and I are in touch. He wants me to be there and I might go, depending upon my schedule. However, I am not sure if I can make it.”

Rakhi Sawant Dumps Elesh

Share

Cynics may say they saw this coming all the while but till Rakhi Sawant actually threw Elesh Parujanwala out of her life there was still some hope that the grand 23-episode Swayamvar reality show would actually end in marriage at some point.Reportedly Rakhi incensed at Elesh’s western ways, fluent English and insistence that their baby should be born in Canada has finally decided that she does not want to marry the man and has broken off the engagement. That he insists that she give up her career and move to Canada with him makes the prospect of marriage, scarier.
Elesh will leave for Canada today, a broken man. But he will keep his promise to the channel for which he is raising a false family with her and will return to shoot the next schedule.
Rakhi was all righteous indignation when asked about the split. ‘I can’t understand his fluent English, he can’t understand Hindi at all,’ she said petulantly. “Kaise chalega?”
Sources from the channel say that the whole of last week Rakhi has been finding fault with Elesh and highlighting his smallest mistakes to build a case for herself. “He has been as loving as ever but she has been a bitch,” said the source. Rakhi though, refused to comment on the subject saying it was too personal.
With this, hopefully, the whole farce of love and marriage has come to an end.

Famous break-ups of Bollywood

Famous break-ups of Bollywood

Familiarity breeds contempt, they say. Where Love is strong, Hatred would be stronger, add Bollywood cherubs. Mumbai would swear by this!
Bollywood is one place on earth where Romance is almost a Sport. And where Romance is a Sport, Reality is bound to play spoilsport. Here is a snappy take on some of the high profile break-ups of Bollywood.

Ash-Sallu: Violent love story!
This is still considered by many as the mother of all break-ups. The Ash-Sallu love story could beat any Bollywood Masala movie, in its unflinching adherence to formula. The tale had “drama, tragedy, romance, action and emotion” in liberal measures. It had a dream beginning (Miss World-meets-Mr. Handsome) but went awry and ended in anti-climax, with both the parties agreeing to live happily ever after (without each other, of course!).

Akshay– Raveena: Mast byte!
A forgotten episode from Bollywood’s old testament, this needs to be told in the “Once upon a time” format. But when it was on, it took so much print space that people even compared it to the classic Stone Age romance of Amitabh and Rekha. It kept the grapevine vendors busy 24-7, and when it came to an end, it rendered quite a few jobless.

Abhishek-Karisma: Scrambled!
Abhi and Karisma, when they got engaged on the 60th B’day of the iconic Amitabh Bachchan, were touted to be the ‘golden couple of Bollywood’. The reason for the break-up is still a mystery! Abhishek sulked, till he stumbled upon a maiden by the name Aishwarya Rai!

Akshay-Shilpa: Churaake Dil Mera…
Akshay Kumar, in his prime, was the Mohammed Ghazni of Romance. Or, so it seems. After breaking-up with Raveena, Akki “found comfort” in Shilpa Shetty, who obviously had no Big Brother to guard her then. After filling the gossip columns for a considerable period, the duo parted ways.

Aamir-Reena: ‘Qayamat..’ se 2002 tak!
Aamir was the nation’s favourite Family Man, when he dropped the bomb in December, 2002. He divorced “Bachpan ka sathi” Reena Dutta. They had married in the year that saw the release of Aamir’s debut film ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’. Aamir went on to marry Kiran Rao, who was an assistant director to Ashutosh Gowariker during the ‘Lagaan’ days. Reena took custody of the children, Junaid and Ira.

Leander Paes-Mahima: Egalite?
There was a time when Leander Paes’s fans could clearly distinguish a unique squeal that came from the VIP box every time he served an ace. It was none other than Mahima Choudhary, the ‘Pardes’ girl. Paes, famous for his mixed doubles trophies, couldn’t sustain it with Mahima. Leander is now married to Rhea Pillai; Mahima is not a visible Bollywood star
Vivek-Ash: One is Company!
This is more a supposed love affair than a real one. Vivek was vocal about it, and Ash was mum. After some verbal vollies from the Oberoi, professing his admiration for Ash and his readiness to take on Salman Khan, the gossip hawks instinctively abandoned this love story, for better and spicier bytes that had both the man and his girl talking about each other!

Preity-Ness: A Pretty Mess!
To call this a break-up would be to guess too early, but going by what the little birdie says, Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia could have bilaterally called it a day!

Kamal-Sarika: Ek Duel Ke Liye!
Kamal Haasan and Sarika tied the knot in the last year of Antiquity and the first year of Modernity, i.e. 1987! The moral premise on which they tied the knot was the same on which they called it a day: The ‘Pati, Patni aur Woh’ premise! Kamal divorced Sarika in 2002. For Kamal, the formula keeps on repeating (with a few prosthetic changes, of course)!

Shahid-Kareena: Yeh Ishq, Haay!
A love story that took almost all available technological innovations to propagate itself: The Shahid-Kareena tale was played out on the newspapers, TV, Net and through MMS chains. All that remain now are bitter memories. And a song: Yeh Ishq, Haay…”

Priyanka-Harman: Blink-and-Miss!
For the Fourth Estate, the Priyanka-Harman love story was finished even before it began! You remember ‘Love Story 2050′, that moronic sci-fi rom? In Bollywood, they say, a flop can really give you a chop!

Kangana-Adhyayan Suman: Quickie!
Another sporadic love story that refused to grow up into an epic! Kangana saw Adhyayan. They kissed! They parted! She smiled! He cried!

Saif-Amrita Singh: Old is Old!
Saif, they say, once believed that you cannot catch them young and watch them grow. He caught Amrita Singh old and watched her Go! The Nawab has, ever since, been erratic in his romances. He is in good hands now, say B’wood cherubs. Kareena is a veteran romantic. Saif might not have found his match, but he has certainly met his match!
